Mr Al-Ashaw graduated in 2004 and ranked 3rd place out of 59 students. He then did a foundation year in a dental centre in Mosul/Iraq and was offered a post in Mosul University as a Clinical Teaching Fellow.In 2009, Mr Al-Ashaw was offered a scholarship for a Masters degree in Conservative Dentistry, the branch of dentistry concerning the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of dental decay, in addition to endodontics which is the division of dental science that deals with root canal filling. His Masters course was a three year clinical course, during this time he worked on many patients in a dental centre, in addition to working on his thesis and co-authoring three scientific papers which were published in well-known scientific journals. His main interest is endodontics and fixed prosthodontics, the branch of dentistry concerning the design, manufacture and fitting of artificial replacements including crowns, bridges and veneers. In addition to his teaching job in the university, he worked in a private practice treating a lot of patients who visited him based on his exceptional reputation.
